SECAUCUS, NJ AND ROCKVILLE, MD -- June 16, 2003 -- NextLinx Corporation, the leading provider of global trade content and management solutions, which was acquired by Management Dynamics in October 2005, has deployed its Trade Import solution across three Panasonic Logistics Company of America sales companies, comprising 90 percent of Panasonic's overall business.
Panasonic, designated by the U.S. Customs as one of the 150 "low risk" importers in terms of compliance, utilizes NextLinx Trade Import solution to streamline U.S. inbound shipments, reduce internal logistics fees and increase supply chain visibility across its global network. With plans for a full enterprise rollout, Panasonic has integrated NextLinx's highly scalable solution with four brokerage firms and two deconsolidators, providing a collaborative and standardized import process for improving its overall business operations.
"NextLinx's Trade Import solution has simplified Panasonic's import transactions by integrating critical global shipping information into our systems in real-time," said Dena L. Sedlak, Group Manager of Panasonic Logistics Company of America. "As a result we have started to achieve end-to-end visibility of our entire supply chain."
Integrating with Panasonic's existing SAP ERP system to automate over 30,000 of Panasonic's shipments yearly, Trade Import provides up-to-date Customs documentation, performs regulatory compliance checks and manages other government agency document requirements to ensure that Panasonic is taking reasonable care. Panasonic is able to conduct variance reporting to benchmark broker performance, monitor shipment delays and data discrepancies, and reallocate resources to various internal sales companies.
With proper checks and balances in place, Panasonic has received fewer cargo exams and requests for data.
Powered by Global Knowledge, the industry's most comprehensive database of global trade content and international business rules, NextLinx Trade Import decreases the complexities of international trade by managing risks, improving communication, reducing cycle time and decreasing potential fines and costs due to improper product classification or documentation.
"Panasonic's commitment to compliance and ability to operate multiple business scenarios with our Trade Import solution further validates NextLinx's leadership in providing the most comprehensive solutions to all Global 2000 companies," said Rajiv Uppal, founder, president and CEO of NextLinx Corporation. "The deployment of our Trade Import solution at Panasonic has allowed us to bring to market a standardized application, providing our customers with a robust tool to better monitor Customs compliance. Automating import compliance for the 15th largest U.S. importer enables us to leverage supply chain best practices and further enhance our import solutions."
