Elite Selects Rate Explorer from Management Dynamics to Automate its NVOCC Ocean Contracts

Elite also partners with Management Dynamics to deliver Rate Explorer to its freight forwarding customers

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ, January 8, 2003, Management Dynamics, Inc., a leader in tariff and contract management systems for the ocean transportation industry, today announced that Elite International Transportation Inc., a world-leading logistics provider that offers a complete range of logistics services to the chemical, petrochemical and food industries, has selected Management Dynamic's Rate Explorer to automate contract management for its non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) operations. Management Dynamics and Elite will also partner to jointly market and sell Rate Explorer to Elite's freight forwarding customers.

Rate Explorer is a web-based contract management solution for ocean transportation. Developed by Management Dynamics to address the shortcomings of traditional, text-based service contracts, Rate Explorer will allow Elite's NVOCC business to manage their ocean contracts in a unique, calculable format and optimize the selection of shipping routes by accurately calculating and comparing services with full bottom-line prices, inclusive of ocean rates, assessorial charges, and inland amounts. Elite expects that Rate Explorer will realize significant cost savings by improving carrier selection, lowering administrative overhead, eliminating overcharges, and improving productivity.

Mark Kaifesh, CEO of Elite International Transportation, said, "By integrating Management Dynamics' Rate Explorer with Elite's systems, we are able to more effectively manage contracts in our NVOCC business and provide better service to our customers. Rate Explorer is a proven technology that will help us further differentiate our services and enhance our market position in this very competitive business."

Elite has also partnered with Management Dynamics to jointly market and sell Rate Explorer to their freight forwarding customers. Now many of the same powerful benefits that Elite will realize in their NVOCC business will be available to shipper customers in their freight forwarding business. Rate Explorer will be integrated with Elite's import/export transaction system to improve the coordination and productivity of the shipper's logistics processes by managing contracts in a calculable format, improving carrier selection, and streamlining the audit of invoices.

Michael Loup, Vice President of Business Development, Elite International Transportation, stated, "Managing carrier contracts and rates has always been a tedious and time consuming task for our customers. As part of our strategy to improve and streamline all logistics processes, we set out to offer a world-class solution for managing this task for shippers. We evaluated several software offerings and chose Rate Explorer and Management Dynamics as the solution and organization which provides the premium service we want for our customers."

Jim Preuninger, CEO of Management Dynamics, said, "Elite has a solid reputation for being on the cutting edge of logistics technology, and for continually seeking out ways to offer higher levels of service to its customers. We are delighted to partner with them, and have the opportunity to automate their NVOCC operation and their forwarding customers' shipping operations."
